The Golden State Warriors will consider trading their 2020 first-round pick. Here are three forward-thinking deals they should look into.

There’s no denying the 2019-2020 season was a tough one for the Golden State Warriors.

In 65 games, the Warriors won a mere 15. It was a different feel than the previous five years which they represented the West in each the NBA Finals. While there were a few silver linings to the season, it was overall a pretty major disappointment.

With Klay Thompson likely having been out the entire season anyway, the idea was that Stephen Curry would propel the team to playoff contention with enough time for Thompson’s ACL to heal and return to the court.

Then, the splash brothers would prove that they don’t need the help of another superstar, making their sixth straight Finals. However, that’s just not how this happened with Curry fracturing his left hand and playing a total of five games this season.

One silver lining is that their horrific record led them to retain their 2020 first-round pick, one they’ll consider trading. With that pick, since it’s guaranteed to be within the top five, the team could return a player that’ll improve their roster, hopefully back to title contention.

They must also plan for the future with any trade. That said, let’s dive into three forward-thinking trades the team should look into.
