Bring in a potential star

For starters, this trade would rely on a few things.

Power forward Dario Saric would have to agree to a sign and trade since he’s a free agent at the end of the season while the Warriors would also be willing to part with Andrew Wiggins, a player that added right before the 2020 trade deadline.

If those two things are thought through, then we can look into how this trade would benefit Golden State.

For the long-term impact, it would give them two young players to help them build around while dealing a player preparing to make max-value money over the next few seasons.

Having Wiggins contract on the books will limit the Warriors, and securing two players that would make less than him combined would be ideal, especially given their production.

Oubre Jr. had a breakout season, averaging almost 20 points per game while making 1.9 threes per game. He’s only 24. As for Saric, he’s a terrific outside threat and would help the team create a dominant small-ball lineup.

A Curry-Thompson-Oubre-Saric-Green lineup sounds incredible on both ends of the court. That said, if they’re looking into trading the pick, this could be something both sides could at least entertain.
