3. Maurice Harkless

The Golden State Warriors want to buff their defense and one way to do this is by adding wing players that can guard multiple positions. In other words, they need a replacement for Andre Iguodala.

Maurice Harkless is nowhere near the savvy defender that Iggy was – but he can be an effective roadblock for opponents. Harkless is a 6’9″ forward with adequate athleticism and a 7’2″ wingspan. He is the prototypical wing defender for today’s NBA.

Harkless played his most effective seasons for the Portland Trail Blazers, serving as a solid two-way shooter. In the 2016-17 season, Harkless averaged 10.0 points and 4.4 rebounds on 35.1 percent shooting from the 3-point line.

If Harkless can have a positive impact on the defensive end while also consistently knocking down 3-pointers, he will earn big minutes with the Dubs. Harkless will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, making him a potential target to sign with the mid-level exception.
