Ranking Golden State Warriors’ best confirmed offseason targets

2. Rudy Gay
Becoming a better defensive team is a goal for the Golden State Warriors. But, on the other side of the ball, they will need a consistent option on the bench to keep themselves afloat.
The Dubs have taken pride in being an all-around strong team throughout the years. Their second unit was always able to hold its own weight offensively due to players such as Shaun Livingston, Quinn Cook and Leandro Barbosa. In recent years, they have lost this spark off the bench.
Rudy Gay can bring life back to the Dubs’ second unit. He is one of the most consistent scorers in the league and excels at creating his own shot. Gay averaged 10.2 points per game this season with the Spurs and could have similar success with the Dubs.
If the Spurs fail to reach the playoffs in the bubble, they could begin to tear it down and officially begin the rebuild. This would put Gay, a 33-year-old veteran, on the trading block. The Dubs need to monitor this situation closely and prepare a potential deal for Gay.
