LaMelo Ball

The only point guard the Warriors have shown interest in is Tyrese Haliburton. However, that could change if they landed the top pick and had a realistic shot at LaMelo Ball, Lonzo Ball‘s younger brother.

Ball has a few clear weaknesses. After one season in the Australian basketball league, Ball showed that he has the vision and scoring of his brother, but can he put it all together?

While he showed that upside, Melo was also very inefficient and turnover-happy. There are reasons to not like Ball; however, some drafts think he’ll be the Warriors pick if they land the top spot.

The Warriors are going to prioritize adding a backup point guard but is a wild card with an extremely high ceiling and floor someone they’d want in that role.

Ball has a swagger to him that may be too much to be a backup, but the Warriors will cast those desires away if they view he’s the future.

With Curry aging, there’s a change — just not a very good one. Ball wouldn’t be a bad first pick, but he’s not who I’d go with.
