Book to Boston

Phoenix receives — Marcus Smart and Jaylen Brown

Boston receives — Devin Booker

Devin Booker on the Boston Celtics would be incredible.

Combine Booker and Jayson Tatum, and the Celtics could have one of the league’s best offensive trios. The problem is here the Celtics have always valued defense, even dating back to the days of Kevin Garnett and more recently Avery Bradley.

Marcus Smart and Jaylen Brown are a few top defenders so dealing them for Booker may be less than ideal. When you get a shot at one of the league’s up-and-coming stars, you don’t pass up on it though.

The Celtics would still have players like Semi Ojeleye that can thrive on the defensive end. Those three plus Ojeleye would provide intense defense, elite scoring and top-tier playmaking. With Booker and Tatum leading the way, the Celtics would be almost unstoppable.

For Phoenix, they could step into a new rebuild, with Kelly Oubre Jr. and Jaylen Brown leading the way. Deandre Ayton and Smart would also hunker down the roster, one that would still be a fringe playoff contender in the West.
