“The Town”

This jersey which was first introduced a couple of years ago is an interesting design for the Golden State Warriors. Looking straight at it, the random fan would have no idea what the tree-like design in the middle of the jersey signifies.

According to an article written by Julianne Herrera and Jocelyn Fiset on ABC describes it as, “A tribute to Oakland, The Town uniform features the logo for the city of Oakland in white set on a black jersey. The uniform celebrates the Oakland community and its support for the Warriors.”

This jersey combination really connects to the community that the Warriors call home. It is important in branding to connect your brand to your buyers. In this sense, it would be connecting the team to the community.

This jersey really shows how powerful the Warriors care about the city that they play in. Having played 47 of their last 48 seasons in “The Town”, it deserved the homage of the jersey displayed by the Warriors player above.

“The Town” theme jerseys are also worn in yellow.
