The Golden State Warriors are reportedly considering trading Andrew Wiggins. Here are five players they should target in this case.

It was only a matter of time before the Golden State Warriors flipped D’Angelo Russell for a more suitable asset. The young All-Star guard didn’t fit with the Dubs current rotation – making him a prime candidate to be traded at the deadline. Could the same happen with Andrew Wiggins? Tom Haberstroh of NBC Sports believes so.

"“Look, they said they weren’t going to trade D’Angelo Russell before, and a couple months later they ended up trading D’Angelo Russell,” Haberstroh said. “… I suspect that they will get on the phone with just about every team in the league just to survey the landscape and see what kind of value they can get, and also pair potentially Andrew Wiggins’ big contract to make the salaries work for a star.”"

Haberstroh notes that the Dubs’ upcoming first round pick could have high value in trade talks. Packaging the pick with Wiggins would maximize the Warriors’ ability to negotiate for another star player.

Is this the best move for the Dubs? Wiggins has promise as a former No. 1 overall pick but hasn’t yet shown that he will ever blossom into the star he was once projected to be. If the hope is that he will develop into a quality role player – wouldn’t the Dubs be better off looking elsewhere?

There are a number of potential upgrades out there on the trading block. Here are five players the Dubs should be targetting.
