There’s been a lot of talk lately about if Trail Blazers Damian Lillard has surpassed Warriors’ Stephen Curry as the NBA’s best point guard? Well, has he?

Stephen Curry played five games during the Golden State Warriors pitiful 2019-2020 campaign. The Warriors won just 15 games, playing in a total of 65, 17 fewer than a typical season consists of.

Without Stephen Curry for the bulk of the season and Klay Thompson the entire season, the Warriors were led by D’Angelo Russell and Draymond Green. Russell led the team offensively until he was traded prior to the 2020 deadline.

The Warriors brought in Andrew Wiggins and a protected 2021 first-round pick, a return they felt confident would put them in a better place for the long-term future, a future that’s past when Curry is leading the organization.

For now, the Warriors are still under Curry’s control as he could bounce back just as strong next season. While moves are still to be made, the keys to the Golden State Warriors are still held by the NBA’s best point guard, Stephen Curry.

Many are talking about whether Damian Lillard, after insane bubble performances, is the better of the two. Lillard averaged 37.6 points per game in the bubble. His performances are awing, but let’s dive into why Curry should still be considered the better of the two players.
