Draymond Green may have aspirations of becoming a TV personality once his playing days with the Golden State Warriors come to an end.

The Golden State Warriors have always used Draymond Green’s fire and energy to help boost them during crucial games. He has never dimmed his expressive personality and enthusiasm for basketball – something that has played a pivotal role in making him the player he is today.

Green isn’t a generally impressive athlete by NBA standards. He isn’t explosive and he won’t outjump anyone on the floor. However, his IQ puts him ahead of the competition and is one of the main factors behind him being such an impactful defender.

In the last few weeks, Green has taken to Inside the NBA and Twitter to share his thoughts on the game. In each instance, he stole the spotlight and started a dialogue online. Having him alongside Kenny Smith, Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley and Ernie Johnson was pure entertainment.

It makes sense that his passion for the game would translate well on to TV. Even his rant on Twitter regarding a play in which Gary Trent Jr. sealed the Portland Trail Blazers victory with a steal was highly entertaining. Green stated that while everyone can recognize a game-winning shot, few were highlighting the terrific defense Trent played to recover the ball with under two minutes remaining.

Green is still set to have some productive years with the Warriors that very likely could be filled with more championship runs to add to his total of three already. However, I for one am excited to see what Green pursues after basketball – as his great mind for the game would certainly make him one of the more special analysts we have seen on TV in quite some time.  We deserve to hear analysis from a true basketball genius – his fun personality is only a bonus.
