3 reasons the Golden State Warriors should trade a top-two pick
The window is closing
The Golden State Warriors window is closing on being NBA Champions.
It’s understandable that they’d take Edwards if they truly feel he could be the future of the franchise, but most see just another high-volume, low-efficiency shooting guard without too much defensive upside.
Obviously there’s always risk involved, but the Warriors, if they land in the top two, would have the chips it takes to bring in a top-tier player.
Bleacher Report went as far as suggesting that the Dubs could bring in superstar Suns guard Devin Booker with the combination of the 2020 pick, the Wolves 2021 pick, Wiggins, and several other late-round picks.
With Klay Thompson, Stephen Curry and Draymond Green all in their early 30s, it’s now or never for the Warriors to get the talent to keep them in Finals contention.
A top-two pick does that; a top-five pick could but likely would be better spent on selecting who they feel is the best available.
