The Golden State Warriors didn’t win the lottery, but they were awarded the No. 2 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. Now, the question is what do they do with it?

The two teams involved in the trade deadline’s blockbuster trade will also be the two with the top picks in the 2020 NBA Draft. The Minnesota Timberwolves won the lottery while the Golden State Warriors secured the No. 2 overall pick.

The Cleveland Cavaliers fell to No. 5 while the New York Knicks were brutally sent down to No. 8. It was a wild lottery that resulted in the Warriors getting an asset that they could do multiple things with.

The Warriors, as just about every analyst pointed out before the lottery started, weren’t your typical team with the highest odds at the No. 1 pick. With two superstars and a few do-it-all players, the Warriors don’t necessarily need this pick in order to be a playoff team.

That’s why, unlike many other teams, their options will be endless moving forward. With the mid-level exception and a $17.2 million trade exception at their disposal, the Warriors have ways to once again create a championship-contending roster.

That said, let’s dive into three options they’ll have now that we know where they’ll select in the 2020 NBA Draft.
