The Golden State Warriors officially have the No. 2 overall pick, and their trade options will be bountiful in the next few months.

Do the Philadelphia 76ers make ideal trade partners for the Golden State Warriors?

Given their incompetence against the Boston Celtics in the first round, the Sixers need to make swift changes in order to keep their fanbase at bay. That’s the one reason it may make sense for both parties. The Sixers are down 3-0 to tehir rivals, the Boston Celtics.

Superstar point guard Ben Simmons has been ruled out in their first-round playoff series, so it makes sense why they’re struggling on both ends of the court.

But, their effort has also been an issue as well and that is something management needs to fix, potentially dealing some of their young players to Golden State.

While it’s still a long shot, the Sixers have the assets and the thought of a deal with Golden State has at least piqued Spencer Dinwiddie‘s interest.

Joel Embiid is one of the best centers in the NBA, but the Sixers are not going to win as long as either Embiid or Ben Simmons is the best player on the roster. They just don’t have what it takes, and it’s shown over the last few seasons.

The Sixers could get quite a few assets if they were wanted to trade the big man.

Embiid, who averaged 23 points per game this season, took a step back. Along with Josh Richardson and many other players either entering their prime or in their prime, the Sixers have what it takes to make Golden State championship favorites next season.

If it isn’t Embiid, I’d be curious to know who, outside of Simmons and potential Richardson, has the potential to bring in such a top-tier pick.

With the No. 2 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, the Warriors also have what it takes to make a decent offer to the Sixers. It’ll all come at the right price as the Warriors won’t be treating Embiid like reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Even if he was on the table, after this postseason where his Sixers are down 3-0, the return may not be quite what either team desires.

Dinwiddie in on the right track, but the actual logic behind the trade may not make too much sense unless one team is overly ready to give up on their asset.
