Cleveland Cavaliers

Like the New York Knicks, the Cleveland Cavaliers lost the 2020 NBA Draft Lottery. They fell to No. 5. They’ll have a plethora of options with that pick, but if their front office has a specific player in mind, sliding up to No. 2 makes sense.

Larry Nance Jr. and No. 5 is really the only combination that makes sense. Nance Jr. is a lengthy big man with an improving jumper that may be able to contribute to the Warriors frontcourt.

If he’s that much of a replacement over Kevon Looney would have to be considered, but he should at least be able to help space the floor better.

For Cleveland, dealing their 2021 pick and keeping both picks could also be an ideal equation. The Cavs would be betting on themselves as a strong 2020-2021 season could mean the pick isn’t in the top-five.

The options for Cleveland are endless, but at No. 5, they’ll have to heavily consider who will already be off the board. Their guy may be off the board, and if they’re wanting LaMelo Ball as well, they may need No. 2.
