Bradley Beal

The Washington Wizards are broken, and it may take more than Bradley Beal to fix them.

They will get to see John Wall return next season, so that could be a positive note for the team based in the nation’s capital. However, they can enter a full rebuild with loaded picks if they want, or they can continue being mediocre until they get Beal the help he needs.

The Wizards drafted Rui Hachimura in the 2019 lottery, and he had a decent rookie season. With Wall, they may contend for a playoff spot. But, if they auction off Beal and Wall, they could get three or four solid first-round picks.

For Beal, a player that averaged 30.5 points and 6.1 assists per game this past season, the Warriors may give their No. 2 overall pick, Andrew Wiggins and the Wolves 2021 first-round pick. That’s a load for one of the best players in the NBA that’s just hitting his prime.

It may take Beal wanting out as well, but he is under contract till after the 2022-2023 season, one in which he’ll make over $37 million. The Warriors may also have to use the bridge option in their trade exception even with combining Wiggins contract in the deal.

This would be a league-altering trade, but one the Warriors should at least look into.
