Anthony Edwards

Before they knew they were going to holster the second-overall pick for a few months, the Golden State Warriors reportedly said they consider Georgia’s Anthony Edwards to be a potential franchise player.

He has the upside, but his efficiency and defensive effort are huge concerns.

However, while those can be fixed, Edwards does have a few intangibles that set him apart. His scoring is one of them. Leaving after his freshman season, Edwards averaged 19.1 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game in his lone collegiate year.

The Star Tribune wrote that the bulk of mocks still have Edwards going to the Wolves.

That move also makes a ton of sense as the Wolves have their point guard of the future and have no real need for LaMelo Ball given their elite playmaking from Karl-Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell.

If Edwards is at No. 2, the Warriors may select him and they’ve spoken highly of him, so it would make sense. But, at the end of the day, it feels he has a better chance at being Andrew Wiggins than Dominique Wilkins.
