Joel Embiid

Brett Brown is taking the fall for the Philadelphia 76ers shortcomings this postseason. After being swept by the Boston Celtics, it was clear that something was going to change for the Sixers, a team that was led to prominence by Joel Embiiid.

Despite averaging 30 points per game, Embiid couldn’t will his team to victory, and that may sit in the minds of the Sixers management all offseason. The 26-year-old regressed this season after notching 27 points per game.

That dipped to 23 per game this season as most of Embiid’s numbers dropped across the board.

He’s under contract until after the 2022-2023 season, and it’s a massive contract to bring in. If the Warriors were to do it, it’d cost Wiggins and both their coveted first-round picks.

For a team that feels comfortable with their superstars, the Warriors wouldn’t overpay for a player like Embiid, but if it’s just Wiggins and one pick, expect them to make a move. That’s highly doubtful though.
