Tyrese Haliburton

The Warriors love Tyrese Haliburton, and it’s not without reason. Haliburton, who is a mere 20 years old, averaged 15.2 points, 5.9 boards, and 6.5 assists during his sophomore season with the Iowa State Cyclones.

The strength that should make the Warriors familiar with the young guard is his ability to shoot from deep. He hit 41.9% of his attempts from downtown his second season in the NCAA and over 43% his freshman season.

According to his former head coach at Iowa State, Steve Prohm, via Golden State of Mind’s Jas Kang, his biggest improvement between his two seasons with the Cyclones was his scoring and ability to create.

“I think that gave him more confidence going into sophomore year, but I think his ability to really score the basketball is what is his biggest improvement was,” Prohm said. Year-over-year scoring improvements like Haliburton’s is a strong sign that the best is yet to come.

Haliburton’s defense and athleticism should also stand out as to reasons why the Warriors are high on him. They have an interest and rightfully so. Expect the Warriors to potentially target Haliburton with the second-overall pick.
