Deni Avdija

The Israelian forward Deni Avdija could be the wildcard of the 2020 NBA Draft. He doesn’t have a Luka Doncic feel, but even if he has the upside of a Danilo Gallinari-type player the Warriors should be happy.

NBA Draft Room compared Avdija to Danny Granger and Mike Miller among others. He’s a competent shooter and a capable cutter, both of which bode well for Golden State’s offense.

What stuck out to me the most while reading The Stepien’s rundown of Avdija was that they noted that he has a “Smart shot IQ who does not take bad shots or shots outside of his comfort zone/force shots.”

That’s exactly what Golden State should want in a player that could immediately contribute.

Alongside a few of the best, taking good shots is a key to staying the court. Avdija doesn’t have as much tape as several of the collegiate prospects, but most of his highlights will sell you on why he’s a terrific fit with the Warriors.
