As the Golden State Warriors gear up for a return to championship contention, their focus will be set beyond with a potential pursuit of Giannis Antetokounmpo on the cards.

Andrew Wiggins will be key to acquiring the man known as the Greek Freak. Although any potential trade won’t just be a Wiggins for Antetokounmpo, Warriors recently-acquired forward will likely be the central figure in return.

The modern-day NBA is a league that’s defined by wings who can score and defend. Wiggins has already shown the ability to score effectively, averaging nearly 20 points during his Timberwolves tenure.

It will likely be a question of whether the former 1st overall pick can show more consistency on the defensive end.

Shop cold weather GSW gear now.

Wiggins made a strong start to his Warriors tenure producing a strong display on both ends, the Canadian contained LeBron James throughout his first game in Warriors uniform and proved that he is capable of successfully guarding the opposition’s best player.

The question will be if Wiggins can do that consistently.
