Joel Embiid was praised for his potential to bring a title to the Golden State Warriors by a Bay Area legend. It still doesn’t feel like the right move.

There’s no denying the next few months will be interesting for the Golden State Warriors. With multiple first-round draft picks that will be of high value, the Warriors will have the assets to bring in a player that’d be considered their third superstar.

The Dubs 2019-2020 campaign only resulted in a mere 15 wins because they were without two-time MVP Stephen Curry and five-time All-Star Klay Thompson for the bulk of the season. Those two combined for just five games played.

Moving forward, the options for the Warriors to bring in that third start will be plentiful. Former Warrior legend Rick Barry thinks the team should use their assets to snag Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiiid.

“A guy that can help more would be Embiid. He can go inside (and) also can pull the bigger man on another team outside. He can shoot the ball from the outside,” the Basketball Hall of Famer said Tuesday on the “Runnin’ Plays” podcast via NBC Bay Area’s Drew Shiller.

Sixers star Embiid, after averaging 30 points per game and still being swept in the first round, is garnering many rumors for his potential exodus. However, nothing credible has been linked to Embiid quite yet.

That said, let’s dive into three reasons why Embiid to the Bay Area doesn’t make too much sense.
