Percentages / Need for the ball

Joel Embiid is going to need to get his shots up. Worse than that, he’s going to need the ball. Embiid’s game isn’t based on cutting, and he’s not the most used in a pick-and-roll as he’s typically a more-skilled player.

Embiid needs the ball to have an impact. As a 32% three-point shooter, Embiid must improve so that he can play off the ball more often.

The Sixers were better with Embiid on the court but barely. That should be concerning as the Warriors would like a player to come in and immediately impact their starting lineup.

For what they need, would he create that much more of a lethal starting unit than Marquese Chriss in there at the five? Some may say yes, but then you need to ask yourself if he’s worth the cost over potentially an up-and-coming star like Bradley Beal.

Embiid isn’t great off the ball, and while he would help add offensive firepower, the cost just isn’t worth the production.
