2. Kelly Oubre Jr. – Fact

There isn’t a better player the Golden State Warriors could realistically trade for next season. Kelly Oubre Jr. checks all the boxes and is exactly what this franchise needs.

One of the major problems with most trade scenarios is the Warriors’ reluctancy to give up on their future by trading the No. 2 overall pick. Swapping for Oubre addresses this as the 24-year-old can be a longterm member of the organization. Furthermore, he has made big leaps in progression over the last two seasons.

Oubre had the best year of his career in Phoenix and has erupted as a two-way scorer. He is a gritty defender and a great athlete. He can score at the rim and stretch the floor with his 3-point shooting. This is precisely the type of role player the Dubs need.

The window has been opened for a potential trade as the Suns’ encouraging run in Orlando could lend the franchise to making one final push for another star. Trading for the Dubs No. 2 overall pick and a chance to pair Devin Booker with a top-three prospect could be too enticing to pass up. Keep an eye out for Phoenix on draft night.
