12. Joel Embiid – *Mostly* Fiction

The Philadelphia 76ers have been a hotbed for trade rumors over the last few seasons. Their problematic tandem of Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons is an obvious cause for concern as the two-stars don’t mesh well together on the court.

However, even after their biggest fumble in the postseason yet, the 76ers still feel confident they can make this thing work. It helps that Simmons avoided their 4-0 loss to the Boston Celtics or else his involvement in such a collapse could have solidified their fate.

Instead, the 76ers reportedly want to give Simmons and Embiid another chance under a new head coach before splitting them up. Of course, the Warriors said something similar about D’Angelo Russell and the Splash Brothers this season prior to swapping him for Andrew Wiggins. It just goes to show, anything could happen if the correct deal is proposed.

But, do the Warriors have a good enough package to pry Embiid from the 76ers? Probably, but it would cost them a whole lot. Their biggest issue would be competing with other teams looking to make the same bargain. Nonetheless, there is a small chance for the 76ers and Warriors to complete a deal.
