Ky Bowman

Originally on a two-way contract to start the 2019-2020 season, the Warriors quickly saw the potential in Ky Bowman. It was Bowman’s rookie season after going undrafted out of Boston College.

Bowman, with Curry out and the team thin at backup point guard after seeing Shaun Livingston retire after the team’s 2019 Finals run, stepped in as the starting point guard. Both Bowman and Damion Lee impressed early and were brought on for the remainder of the season.

As for Bowman, he started 12 games, playing in 45. He was behind D’Angelo Russell for much of the season until Russell was traded. Averaging 7.4 points per game, Bowman was a solid addition for this roster.

Oddly enough, the Warriors are looking to make adding a backup point guard a priority. While that may not spell the end of Bowman in the Bay Area, it certainly doesn’t help his cause. The Warriors may want a veteran behind Curry.

If that’s the case, Bowman could be on his way out. He has value, but the Warriors will like him more than any other team. I’d be shocked if he’s not on the roster, but his role may be drastically reduced if he’s retained.
