Damion Lee

The Golden State Warriors will have all types of depth at shooting guard.

Damion Lee, given his age and defensive liability, feels like the odd man out. Lee and Warriors’ 2019 first-round pick Jordan Poole will be vying for backup shooting guard minutes, assuming the team doesn’t select Anthony Edwards with their No. 2 overall pick.

Poole, who was awful to start the season, had a season-transforming stint in the G-League. He came back out aggressive and efficient. He notched double figures in 12 of his last 13 games, finally finding the range Golden State knew he had.

Lee, like with Bowman, has a partially guaranteed contract.

With Mychal Mulder potentially in the mix as well, Klay Thompson will return as the starting shooting guard, but the minutes will be limited. Lee isn’t necessarily young and willing to wait for minutes when he’s proven that he’s good enough to get minutes elsewhere.

It wouldn’t be unthinkable to see the team move on from Lee or Bowman given their non-guaranteed deals or Looney given his struggle with injuries.
