His unselfishness

Jrue Holiday is a winner. If you watch his style of a play, it’d be a solid fit alongside Curry and Thompson.

While he started his career as a point guard, Holiday’s last two seasons, with the Pelicans adding Lonzo Ball this year, have been at the two. That’s good news for Golden State. Playing the three together with Green and Marquese Chriss would be a uber-versatile lineup.

It’s not just his defense that makes him clearly a team-first player, but the fact that he shares the ball. Holiday, even as a primary two-guard, averaged 6.7 assists per game this season and 7.7 last year.

That said, the only downside to Holiday is his contract. The Warriors may have to work their magic with the bridge option to bring in an Aaron Gordon-like player to flip him and a pick for Holiday.

Making over $25 million per year, Holiday will likely cost the Warriors two coveted draft picks, but if that’s what it costs to win, it’s a deal the must get done, right?

There’s little talk about Holiday being dealt, but with Brandon Ingram needing a new deal, it might just be the perfect time for the Pelicans to let the veteran guard go try to get on a championship-contending team.
