Draymond Green

Entering the 2019-2020 season, the Warriors were hoping the combination of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and D’Angelo Russell could propel them to yet another postseason berth.

After Curry’s injury, the bulk of the responsibility fell on Green’s shoulders. His numbers were disappointing, and it’s clear that he plays his best, most efficient basketball with the splash brothers on the court.

The difference in both his averages and percentages when playing with the splash brothers, with the splash brothers and Kevin Durant and then without any the three is shocking and shows how reliant he is on playmakers offensively.

Green, given his max-value contract extension, could be dealt if the team can bring in a Beal-like star. He averaged 8.0 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game. The latter two were his lowest averages since the 2014-2015 season.

His passion and impact are still there, but he certainly may be on the trading block if his name is called in trade talks. Since Green is valued more in Golden State than anywhere else, I’d assume he stays put this offseason.
