5. Atlanta Hawks

Despite possessing one of the most stacked young cores in the NBA, filled with All-Star Trae Young and recent lottery picks like DeAndre Hunter and Cam Reddish – the Atlanta Hawks finished 14th in the Eastern Conference.

Much of this was due to their defense. They ranked 23rd in defensive rebounding and the most points in the paint of any team in the league. This alone is enough reason for the Hawks to consider jumping to the 2nd pick in the draft to acquire defensive big-man James Wiseman.

This would come with a cost for Atlanta. John Collins would be the Warriors’ ideal target here, an athletic forward who averaged 21.6 points and 10.1 rebounds in his third NBA season. Collins can quickly be a lob-threat for the Dubs and his 40.1 percent clip from the 3-point line would make him the best shooter in their frontcourt.

In order to make this swap even, the Warriors would likely have to include Eric Paschall. This would help the Hawks replace Collins’ production while maintaining their youth.
