13. Boston Celtics

It might be difficult to convince the Boston Celtics to trade one of their core pieces after a thrilling victory over the Toronto Raptors in the second round of the playoffs. A trip to the NBA Finals would almost certainly secure Marcus Smart’s spot on the roster for another go next season – but a meltdown against the Miami Heat could cause a deal to get done.

The Celtics have a great young core featuring a blooming superstar in Jayson Tatum. While Smart is one of the fundamental pieces that helps orchestrate the offense and defense – swapping him for a top prospect and future assets might allow the Celtics to form a dynasty around Tatum.

An All-Rookie member in Eric Paschall, plus the 2nd overall pick and a future first round pick could be enough to pry Smart away from Boston. This would be huge for the Warriors as Smart can act as a mini Draymond Green with all of the same playmaking and defensive potential.

The biggest question mark around Smart is his shooting ability but this has improved in recent years. In seven games versus Toronto, Smart drilled 24 total 3-pointers on 39.3 percent shooting.
