1. Anthony Edwards
All indications point towards the Minnesota Timberwolves selecting Anthony Edwards with the No. 1 overall pick – but there is no doubt the Golden State Warriors are interested in taking him for themselves.
The Wolves haven’t explicitly said they are taking Edwards but most assume it is the most logical fit for the franchise to pair him with D’Angelo Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns. However, if he becomes available, the Warriors would almost certainly take Edwards over any other wing in the draft.
Edwards has top-level potential as a scorer and defender. He is the ideal size to be a force on the defensive end and showed a solid ability to rack up points at Georgia. He is everything the Warriors are looking for from a sixth man.
One day, Edwards could blossom into the face of the franchise. His ceiling is much higher than anyone else on our list and he is more than ready to have an impact on the Dubs’ title hopes next season. If the Wolves pass on Edwards, Golden State won’t.
