The Golden State Warriors might not make a deal before the NBA Draft but they could later trade whoever they select with the No. 2 pick.

While speculation grows around the Golden State Warriors upcoming NBA Draft pick, it’s looking increasingly likely the franchise holds onto the pick for themselves. At least, for now.

The Warriors don’t have to rush into a deal before November – instead, they can monitor the market and stash their prospect until the trade deadline and look for a potentially more lucrative deal.

The main motivation for this would be most of the Dubs’ primary trade targets won’t be available this offseason. Giannis Antetokounmpo will be in Milwaukee next season and the Washington Wizards appear to be clinching to Bradley Beal for now.

If this is the case, it couldn’t hurt the Dubs to use the pick for themselves and give an honest chance to any prospect they select. However, they should be taking into account each prospect’s trade value if a deal is something they will consider in the near future.

Which players have the highest trade value? Today we break down the top three players the Warriors should target if a later trade is their goal.
