On the All The Smoke podcast, Allen Iverson made his case for Giannis Antetokounmpo to join the Golden State Warriors.

It’s no secret that Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Golden State Warriors have been linked in free agency rumors this year. From the moment people began realizing Giannis would hit the market in 2021, speculation has been growing that the two-time MVP could join the best franchise in basketball.

The Warriors have built a winning culture that few organizations have been able to muster up in league history. As a result, they have become a hotbed for trade and free agency rumors as just about every star has a reason to join Golden State.

It’s easy to see how Giannis would dominate next to the Splash Brothers. In fact, NBA Hall of Famer Allen Iverson recently stated how badly he wants to see this pairing become a reality.

On the ‘All The Smoke‘ Podcast with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, Iverson practically begged Giannis to join the Warriors, repeatedly saying “I want him to go to Golden State, man.”

Iverson isn’t alone in his wishes. The entire Bay Area is hoping to see the Greek Freak join the franchise as he would undoubtedly put them back on the top of the NBA mountain. With a superstar talent like Giannis next to Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, it would be very difficult to beat the Warriors.

Sadly, we won’t get a chance to see this until next year at the earliest. It’s extremely unlikely the Milwaukee Bucks trade away their franchise player unless absolutely forced to do so. The only issue here is that the Warriors would need to make a massive move to clear up cap space.

Andrew Wiggins is the most obvious name that comes to mind. If the Dubs need to shed a contract – Wiggins will be the first one on the trading block. Of course, Draymond Green and even Thompson have been mentioned as well.

Whatever the cost of bringing Giannis to Golden State might be, we can guarantee the front office will seriously consider doing everything they can to acquire him.
