A big concern for the Golden State Warriors’ rising star is his 3-point shooting. But, Steve Kerr says Eric Paschall is working to fix his shot.

Eric Paschall was one of the lone bright spots in the Golden State Warriors‘ tumultuous season. The Warriors fell into the abyss, finishing with just 15 wins and landing at the bottom of league standings. However, they did find solace in their second round draft pick, Paschall, who managed to earn an All-Rookie nod for his performances.

Paschall had a unique opportunity to carve out minutes for himself when the rest of the Warriors’ rotation crumbled to injuries. He took full advantage by averaging 14.0 points and 4.6 rebounds. He became a reliable scoring option and a reason for longterm fans to continue checking in on an otherwise unwatchable season from Golden State.

Nonetheless, Paschall had his issues. The most glaring of which came in the form of his 3-point shooting as Paschall shot just 28.7 percent from deep. This is an issue that, if unchecked, will hold him back from playing a consistent role next season.

Steve Kerr knows this and has made it a point of emphasis during minicamp to work on Paschall’s shot. When speaking to 95.7 The Game, Kerr had this to say:

"“He’s working hard on his shot,” Kerr said. ”If we can improve that 3-point shot, particularly from the corners, then he’s got a chance to stay on the floor even more next year.”"

There is simply no way the Dubs can afford to have another poor 3-point shooting player in their frontcourt. Draymond Green’s recent decline as a shooter is troublesome enough. Pairing Green and Paschall would be a disaster for the team’s spacing.

This is why it’s so important that Paschall makes a leap as a shooter. A ton of new dynamics will open up for the Dubs if Paschall can shoot above 35 percent from deep. Hopefully, his hard work pays off sooner rather than later.
