Free up questionable assets

The Warriors can go ahead and make it known that anyone on their team is not off-limits.

While this isn’t something they’ll do, the Warriors could include Klay Thompson in trade rumors. The five-time All-Star’s value has been swirling around media. No rumors of Thompson’s status with the team being up in the air have been credibly reported.

It’s not just Thompson though. Jordan Poole, Eric Paschall and Andrew Wiggins are all players the teams may inquire about in any trade discussion. The Bucks would most likely want Thompson, so they can continue their reign over the East.

Understanding their limits and the best package they could get if Giannis says he’s not feeling it anymore in Milwaukee could be something the two teams may want to have already sorted through, and if Golden State makes those preliminary calls, it could help in the process.

The Golden State Warriors have the most to offer of almost any team in the NBA, and with the high-value assets, giving a firm understanding of what they will and will not bargain with may be important.
