3. Marc Gasol

There are some recent rumblings that Marc Gasol could be ending his NBA career and looking to play overseas. While there is a lot of smoke – there hasn’t yet been any fire to prove these rumors. So, for now, let’s assume Gasol will be staying in the league.

If so, where would the former Defensive Player of the Year sign? Gasol is in the last stage of his career and has consistently honored loyalty to the team he resides with. Already a champion, the Golden State Warriors can’t use their dynasty as leverage to entice Gasol. Instead, the only way the Warriors really have a chance of signing Gasol is if he simply wants to be in Golden State.

In that event, the Warriors would absolutely love to have him. He is a game-changer with his defensive prowess and playmaking ability. Gasol can protect the rim, defend the perimeter, create plays and spread the floor. In 44 games this season, Gasol averaged 7.5 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists.

Gasol made $25 million dollars last year but won’t see that type of contract again at 35 years of age. The Warriors’ offer might be a little short but money might not be a big factor for Gasol if playing overseas was already on his mind.
