The Golden State Warriors have generated quite a bit of trade buzz with a plethora of assets and the desire for a third superstar-caliber player.
It’s been over half a decade since the Warriors 2014-2015 team shocked the world and won the 2015 NBA Finals.
While they were one of the better regular-season teams and the following year proved to be the best regular-season team in league history, the Warriors didn’t have two top-ten players on their roster.
The current Lakers roster has that. The Warriors roster for the last three seasons had that.
Can they win again without a Kevin Durant-like star alongside Klay Thompson, Stephen Curry and Draymond Green? With the assets to bring in another superstar, should the Warriors go all-in right now and plan to be the favorite in the West next season?
It has to be a tough decision for general manager Bob Myers given their ability to create another long-term dynasty in the Bay Area if they play their cards right over the next few seasons. Going all-in right now could negate that possibility.
The superstar market, after an eventful postseason in Orlando, could see a plethora of players available. That said, despite the low possibility that the Warriors trade for them, let’s dive into five high-profile targets.
