Ky Bowman

The Golden State Warriors are going to prioritize adding a backup point guard this offseason.

Ky Bowman, a rookie a season ago who started on a two-way contract and was eventually converted over on a full-time basis to the Warriors roster, may have his spot on the depth chart now in jeopardy.

Bowman served as the backup point guard for the Warriors while D’Angelo Russell led the show for much of last season. When Russell was traded to Minnesota, Bowman stepped up and started a few games.

His numbers weren’t the best, but his turnovers were low and Kerr loves how he fits in the system. In 45 games, Bowman averaged 7.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists and just 1.6 turnovers per game. It’s nothing overly incredible, but he is capable of being a solid backup option.

But, if the team does prioritize adding that veteran backup, Bowman’s minutes and role on the roster may be reduced.
