4. Rockets go back to the drawing board

Mike D’Antoni and the Houston Rockets went all-out on the small-ball style last season. They pushed the system to its max, ditching the center position entirely and fully committing to this brand of basketball.

To no surprise, this didn’t amount to much. With D’Antoni gone – the Rockets will likely go back to the drawing board and attempt to reorchestrate this system while James Harden is still in his prime.

The Rockets should look to revert to a more traditional way of playing. The mid-range shot should return to their offense while the isolation plays should be reduced. Eric Paschall and Jordan Poole can help them transition to a new style. Meanwhile, the No. 2 overall pick gives the Rockets a chance to draft a center like James Wiseman and truly look ahead to the future.

Snagging P.J. Tucker and Robert Covington for depth purposes would be a solid steal for the Warriors. Both players will vastly improve the Dubs perimeter defense which is one of their biggest weaknesses heading into the season.
