3 reasons Al Horford is a realistic trade target for the Golden State Warriors
He’d be a perfect small-ball center
The Golden State Warriors will likely want a lineup where Draymond Green is the four with a mobile center at the five. Marquese Chriss does well in that regard, but he’s not an elite of a defender as Horford would be.
The other part that makes Horford an ideal addition is that he can shoot.
While he wasn’t as sharp in Philadelphia as he was in Boston, Horford still averaged 1.5 threes per game and shot 35 percent from deep. In his second season in Boston, Horford neared 43 percent from deep and made 1.3 threes per game.
He’s averaged over a three per game for the past half a decade. A five-time All-Star, Horford also had a decade-long streak of over a block per game.
He’s shifty enough to switch onto guards and good enough offensively to keep the floor spaced for Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson
