5. Marc Gasol (MLE)

Filling in the center position will be a goal for the Golden State Warriors this offseason. Another point of emphasis will be adding players with veteran experience. Marc Gasol is a player who fills both needs.

Gasol has been battle-tested at the highest stages in basketball. He is an NBA Champion, aiding the Toronto Raptors in their upset of the Warriors in the 2019 NBA Finals. Even in his old age, Gasol is an elite defender in the playoffs and can shift the tides for Golden State.

The Warriors aren’t as deadly on defense as they used to be. Gasol can help them in this area by being a sound rim protector and vocal leader on this end of the floor.

Furthermore, Gasol is a gifted passer and screener. He will work hard to create open looks for the rest of the Warriors squad and will be able to score at key points of the game due to his soft touch from around the floor.

Gasol isn’t a player who will receive high usage on the Dubs. They might not even need him for much of the season. However, in potential matchups with the Los Angeles Lakers and Denver Nuggets, a center like Gasol could be vital.
