Center

The last position the Warriors will need some help at is center.

They have 13 players on their roster and only one true center, Marquese Chriss. With two point guard and two small forwards, the team boasts four shooting guards and four power forwards, many of which could slide up or down a position if need be.

Chriss is going to be the team’s starter, and originally a power forward, Kevon Looney will be his backup. There are a few quintessential targets like Myles Turner and Joel Embiid, but those come at a high cost, potentially multiple first-round picks.

Then there’s the mid-level exception. They could sign Marc Gasol or Serge Ibaka, two players that helped down Golden State in the 2019 Finals. They would both help spread the floor while adding rim protection.

The options in both markets will be there, and Golden State must capitalize. It’s not just at center though; they need to improve their roster in all three positions to enter the season feeling good about their depth.
