He’s down but still improving

Aaron Gordon wasn’t great last season. He’s no longer the face of the Magic’s team. They have Markelle Fultz and Jonathan Isaac. Nikola Vucevic has also made himself a long-term face of their franchise as well.

Those three may lead the team well into the future, and while they may want to retain Gordon as they’ve shown they do, giving him that big-time contract, it may be best to prepare for a future without him.

Gordon’s best season of his career came two years ago, when he averaged 17.6 points per game.

He barrelled down to 14.0 this past season. He also went from 2.0 threes to just 1.2 made threes per game. His three-point percentage also dipped about three percent. He’s young and still has that potential.

Having just turned 25, Gordon is a player the Warriors should give a chance and bring out that star-level. They’ve done it before, and they can do it again with Gordon.
