The Golden State Warriors have the assets to pull off a massive blockbuster trade, but they don’t just need any trade. They need this type of trade.

There’s no denying that the Golden State Warriors 2019-2020 season didn’t’ go as planned. Although Kevin Durant was no longer with the team, the Warriors still had the promise to be one of the best teams in the Western Conference.

The original plan was for Klay Thompson to come back early in the spring after he tore his ACL in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals. That was completely thrown out the door when Stephen Curry broke his hand in the fourth game of the season.

The Warriors then created a little midseason drama when they traded D’Angelo Russell for Andrew Wiggins. Wiggins is likely going to be the team’s starting small forward. Marquese Chriss is the only other relatively unknown starter as he’ll be the projected center.

But, with the No. 2 overall pick in the coming draft, a top pick in the 2021 draft, a $17.2 million trade exception, and a plethora of young, talented players, the Warriors have the assets to bring in what it will take to get them back to the NBA Finals.

On a recent episode of “The Lowe Post,” The Ringer’s Bill Simmons tossed out this three-team trade, and it makes too much sense for all parties involved.

Warriors get: Spencer Dinwiddie, Jarrett Allen, No. 19 overall pick in 2020 NBA Draft

Nets get: Victor Oladipo

Pacers get: No. 2 overall pick in 2020 NBA Draft

That said, let’s dive into why each team would do this deal.
