The Golden State Warriors are searching for a home run this offseason – here is how they can complete a deal for Myles Turner.

There is a growing belief around the league that the Golden State Warriors are gearing up to make a game-changing deal before the offseason concludes. With the No. 2 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, a future first rounder from Minnesota and a few expendable young assets like Andrew Wiggins, Eric Paschall and Jordan Poole – anything is possible.

Because of this, numerous hypothetical trades have been made throughout the last few months. One that caught my attention was a proposal from Duncan Smith of HoopsHabit – who created this blockbuster three-team swap:

There are a ton of moving pieces in this deal and each team is getting a brand new collection of assets – but let’s focus primarily on what the Warriors have going on here. If you want to read explanations for the other two teams, check out Smith’s full article linked above.

Warriors receive – Myles Turner, Gary Harris, 2022 First Round

Warriors lose – Andrew Wiggins, No. 2 pick, 2021 First Round (MIN)

When looking from this perspective, we can see the Warriors gain quite a bit without losing much. This is a small price to pay for one of the best rim protectors in the league. It also helps that Turner is perhaps the best 3-point shooting big-man outside of Karl-Anthony Towns.

Throwing in Gary Harris helps put this deal over the top for Golden State. Harris is a trustworthy scorer and a reliable perimeter defender. He fills all of the gaps the Dubs have in the wing position while Turner plugs in holes on defense and offense with his skill set.

From all angles, this seems like a massive win for the Warriors – and a deal they would take in a heartbeat if it ever becomes available.
