5. Marcus Smart

There have been rumblings that the Boston Celtics may consider trading Marcus Smart. At least, the fan base has been calling for a potential deal ever since his 14-for-44 shooting stretch in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Bill Simmons of The Ringer has been at the forefront of Smart rumors – proposing a deal to the Golden State Warriors in exchange for the No. 2 pick. While it’s unclear if there’s any traction to this rumor, we can analyze how it would help the Warriors.

Right away, the Warriors would improve defensively with Smart. He has the same mentality of Draymond Green, using his brute strength and IQ to disrupt opponents at every turn. Having Smart on the perimeter would be a game-changer.

Offensively, Smart has drastically improved as a shooter and playmaker. He can act as a quality combo-guard to bring off the bench when needed. Overall, acquiring Smart for the No. 2 pick would be a win for the Warriors.
