Dubs could add a third 2021 pick… maybe
The Golden State Warriors have the Minnesota Timberwolves top-three protected 2021 first-round pick.
That’s a star waiting to happen in what many are expecting to be one of the best drafts this decade. Think about what a package for a two-time MVP could be if the Warriors were able to trade their No. 2 overall pick for either the Cavaliers or Knicks 2021 first-round pick.
Both teams lost on lottery night and should be heavily interested in LaMelo Ball, who could be the draft’s best playmaker. It’s tough to envision either team dealing a pick that may be in the top five next year, but if New York wants their star, they’ll do it.
If the Warriors could manage a third 2021 first-round pick, they’ll have the package they need. It’s a big if, but it’s something Golden State should look into if they want to offer a potential package worthy of a young superstar.
