2. Obi Toppin – Pass

Many assumed Obi Toppin would be on the Golden State Warriors’ radar if they decided to trade back in the order. Surprisingly, the Dubs are actually rumored to consider taking Toppin with the No. 2 pick.

Toppin’s well-rounded offensive game is a major point of interest for the Warriors. He is already a great shooter, connecting on over 40 percent of his 3-point attempts in college. Toppin has brute strength in the paint and can play above the rim – giving him multiple points of attack on offense.

However, his strength is not matched with size. Toppin stands at 6’9″ and lacks the defensive prowess to defend bigger opponents. Meanwhile, he is too bulky and slow to check the perimeter. This puts Toppin in an awkward position between forward and center.

The Warriors would love to have Toppin spread the floor for them in the frontcourt. But, his weakness on defense could be too much to overcome in a deep playoff run. Unless the Dubs elect to trade back in the order, I wouldn’t’ suggest taking Toppin.
