Jrue Holiday is on the market, and the Golden State Warriors need to get involved in the action as several contenders are looking to trade for the former All-Star.

The Golden State Warriors have the No. 2 overall pick in the upcoming 2020 NBA Draft. They were luckier than the Cleveland Cavaliers and New York Knicks, both teams which dropped out of the top three.

Not many people at the start of the offseason thought that the Warriors would keep their pick. As the draft inches closer and closer, the reality may set in that they do retain the pick and take who they want to lead the future of their franchise.

At the same time, as we inch closer, many players may start to become available in trade talks.

With the Warriors potentially planning to make a move in order to shore up their roster for a battle with the defending champions Los Angeles Lakers next postseason, their pick could again be in play as Pelicans’ Jrue Holiday may be on the market.

According to The Athletic and Stadium reporter Shams Charania, the Pelicans are “discussing” offers with teams regarding Holiday.

A contender, the Warriors should be in that dialogue with New Orleans. A former All-Star, Holiday has averaged at least 1.4 steals per game every season for the last decade. He’s an elite-level defender, something the Warriors should crave.

The Warriors need to take a deep into what it would take to acquire him. That said, let’s dive into three trades the team could make for Holiday.
