The low-ball offer

Pelicans receive: PF Eric Paschall, two 2020 second-round picks, SF Andrew Wiggins

Warriors receive: Jrue Holiday

The Golden State Warriors are going to look to acquire any star without giving up their No. 2 overall pick. It’s not going to happen. They’re going to have to cave on their valuation of whoever they want at No. 2 in order to get a deal done.

In this deal, the Warriors give up Eric Paschall, one of the best and most undervalued rookies of the 2019 class. Paschall averaged 14.0 points per game on almost 50 percent from the field. He’s a rising star but one with a capped ceiling.

Along with Andrew Wiggins, a player that’s proven he can score in bunches at the highest level. and two second-round picks, the Warriors may have enough here, but the Pelicans would really be giving up quite a bit.

The picks are valuable, but for Golden State, an organization that’s shown an ability to draft well late, they may carry a bit extra value. With 13 players on the roster and the MLE, they potentially could be open for dealing. Both sides make sense.

This trade is worth it for Golden State as Paschall likely won’t be an All-Star and they’d be getting off Wiggins contracts. For New Orleans, they should rather have a first-round pick than all that and there should be a team that gives them that, one reason this deal doesn’t seem likely.
